New £1m refurbishment of NI family store

After a £1m investment, a new Supervalu store has been unveiled in Portadown.

Wilson’s Supervalue reopened on the town’s Garvaghy Rd, supporting 50 jobs.

Located besidethe People’s Park, it is owned by Eamonn Wilson alongside his son and daughter, Peter and Emma.

The family store has been serving the local community for over 30 years.

Peter Wilson said: “As a family business, we are proud to have been a part of this community over the last 30 years and are delighted to offer our customers an enhanced shopping experience here at Wilson’s SuperValu.”

The bright and contemporary store includes a butchery and is one of the first store’s in NI to offer the new SuperValu range, SimpliDish. Customers can avail of an expanded food-to-go offering with “The Deli” area featuring hot and cold deli counters, a dedicated burrito bar “Mex-A-Go” and Frank and Honest coffee.

A state-of-the-art ‘Wilson’s Ice Cream Parlour’, with two Pametti Hot Sauce taps and specialising in luxury pots, cookie and brownie trays as well as milkshakes completes the offering.

The refurbishment involved an extensive redevelopment of the store and the STAR forecourt. It also has a post office facility and ATM on site.
