Loreto GSCE students are top in the Province!

Two students from Loreto College Coleraine were presented with awards at a ceremony at Titanic Belfast, having been recognised among the very top students achieving A* grades in a variety of subjects in the Summer 2015 CCEA GCSE examinations.

Emily Moore was placed First in CCEA GCSE Physics and Joint First in CCEA Further Mathematics, while Maggie McBride was placed Joint First in CCEA GCSE Economics. Both Emily and Maggie were presented with plaques to mark these achievements, while their teachers – Miss B Toner (Economics), Mrs M Mackle (Mathematics) and Mrs K Brolly (Physics) were also congratulated.

In addition to these outstanding achievements, Maggie McBride was also placed Joint Third in CCEA CGSE Geography. In a remarkable second success for the Economics Department, Cariosa O’Harte was placed Second in CCEA GCSE Economics. Accomplished sportswoman Aoife Carr was placed Second in CCEA GCSE Physical Education.

All four students are now working towards their A Levels at Loreto College.

Mr Michael James, Principal of Loreto College, congratulated these students and their teachers on these wonderful achievements, on behalf of all the staff and students of the College.
