DUP MLA welcomes funding for hospices

A £7m funding package for local hospices to help them through the COVID-19 crisis has been welcomed by Upper Bann MLA Jonathan Buckley.

The DUP MLA was speaking after the COVID-19 Charities Fund was launched by the Minister for Communities to help charities negatively impacted by the ongoing emergency.

The Upper Bann MLA said: “Over the course of the last few weeks I have lobbied the Minister for Communities for financial support for our local charities involved in the COVID-19 response. I’m delighted to announce that a funding package has been secured to help support charities impacted by the pandemic.

“Many have been at the frontline in responding to the emergency and I hope that this funding will enable them to continue their dedicated work in our communities.”
