Tuesday 1st September will see the reopening of the two town halls and nine community centres across the borough.

And to ensure the protection of both staff and customers, each venue will have significant Covid-19 health and safety measures in place.

ABC council says its officers are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the new safety measures will put minds at ease for users, but still allow everyone to experience a friendly, welcoming environment in each centre.

The council has said people should be aware that there may be slight changes to the booking system due to the need for additional breaks between user groups for cleaning and sanitising purposes – but staff will make sure these changes are as seamless as possible.

There will also be changes to the numbers of people that can be accommodated in each facility.

Each group will be responsible for their own social distancing measures - but this can be discussed with the manager when booking.

Centre staff will be back on site from 1st August to thoroughly prepare each venue, so that they are completely equipped for doors opening in September. Health and safety measures will be implemented, signage assembled, one way systems where necessary, hand sanitising stations, deep cleaning and other necessary arrangements.
