Adrian’s long trek for Christian Aid
Adrian Horsman’s 200-mile trek from St Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast to St Mary’s Cathedral in Limerick will venture through counties Down, Armagh, Monaghan, Cavan, Meath, Westmeath, Offaly, Tipperary and Limerick.
The walk comes exactly 20 years after Adrian, a former Dublin correspondent and presenter of BBC Evening Extra, cycled from Belfast to Cape Town – a trip which opened his eyes to poverty across the world.

“What really got me was that these people were poor in countries where the land was rich and fertile.”
Adrian spent the first night of his mammoth walk in Tandragee and crossed the border at 5pm on Sunday before setting up camp in Castleblayney.
“I would have to say it is really quite tough,” Adrian confessed at the weekend.
“The blisters are amazing and my rucksack is quite heavy.”
