The summer opening hours at the recycling centres in Portadown are now in place.

The Fairgreen Household Recycling Centre is now open late on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am to 7.45pm.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the centre is open from 9am to 5.45pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 3.45pm. It is closed on Sunday.

Householders can use the centre free of charge for the disposal of bulky items and for recycling.

A vast number of materials are accepted including timber, garden waste, hard plastic, metal, car and household batteries, paint, engine oil, cooking oil, textiles, rubble, fluorescent tubes and electrical items as well as more commonplace materials such as glass bottles, paper, plastic bottles, cardboard and metal cans.

To make sure your visit is even easier separate your waste into different types before you go and use the clearly marked recycling containers wherever possible.

In order to give people time to dispose of materials safely and into the correct containers these times are the last permitted entry. The site will close 15 minutes later.
