For the local toe-tapping PM Big Band is presenting its 12th annual concert (starting 8pm) at the popular Portadown venue that night.
You can thrill to the era of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and others – the PM Big Band will be paying homage to the Great American Songbook. Fronting the 24-strong ensemble will be musical director and talented vocalist Noel Millsopp, recreating the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin right up to the modern-day Canadian crooner Michael Buble.
The Big Band sound goes from mellow/romantic to ring-ding-swinging – an annual event that packs ‘em in at the Edward Street venue, so don’t miss it. Tickets are only £10, and these can be had from Winnie’s Newsagents of Woodhouse Street, an establishment that does more than most to support local culture and concerts.
