A 21-year-old man shouted abuse at police.
Ryan Pepper of Westland Road, Portadown, appeared last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court via videolink from Maghaberry prison.
He was sentenced to three months in custody for disorderly behaviour on October 9.
The court heard that at 11.15pm police were carrying out a checkpoint at West Street when they were approached by two males.
The defendant began swearing and shouting abuse. Pepper was drinking from a can of beer in a non alcohol zone. He was cautioned and allowed to leave.
But he later returned and called police ‘black b—ds’ and added ‘sure Duffy and Shivers will get you’.
The defendant is serving a ten-month sentence.
