Top American drummer Aaron Spears will be in Portadown tomorrow (Saturday) when he will be taking a drumming clinic at Seagoe Parish Hall.
His visit is considered a bit of a ‘coup’ for Richhill musician Stephen Maginnis, who approached the drummer via Facebook and asked him if he would come to Portadown.
Aaron will be playing at the Odyssey tomorrow night with best-selling R&B singer Usher, but before that he will be at Seagoe for the drum session.
Doors open at 11.30am and the session starts at 12.
Said Stephen, who plays drums and guitar, “Aaron is incredible. He was brought up in a black gospel church background and his performances are full of energy and known for their fast ‘chops’.
“He usually goes to big cities - the closest has been Dublin - so it’s great for
him to be coming to
Aaron is expected to play for 45-50 minutes, after which the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions, take photos and have autographs signed.
Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for ages 16 and under. Pay at the door on the day or telephone Stephen on 07769902784.
