Armed robbers target pharmacy

Detectives investigating an armed robbery at a pharmacy on the Antrim Road, Glengormley have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

At around 4.45pm on Friday, January 23, two males armed with a bread knife and baseball bats entered the premises at the corner of Glencairn Park. They threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash from the till.

The pair are both described as around 5ft 3ins tall. One was wearing a black jacket, dark bottoms and dark trainers, while the other is believed to have been wearing a cream cap, black tracksuit bottoms and had a red and white scarf covering his face.

Speaking to the Times on Monday, January 26, a PSNI spokesman confirmed that there have been no arrests made in connection with the incident, but stressed that enquiries are ongoing.

Investigating officers have appealed for anyone with information about the robbery to contact detectives at Newtownabbey CID on the non-emergency number, 101.
