While testing a motorcycle on the road an 18-year-old man was not covered by insurance, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Friday.
Mark Craven, whose address was given to the court as Derryhale Road, Portadown, was fined £235 for not having insurance on February 11 this year.
He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy and six penalty points were imposed on his driving licence.
The court heard he was using the motorcycle on the Derryhale Road.
A solicitor representing the defendant said he was insured for his mother’s car and had a provisional licence.
He explained Craven had bought this motorcycle to use in fields and was testing it on the road in front of his house. He had a clear record.
