Charged with various assaults on same person

A Lurgan man had been sent for trial to Craigavon Crown Court on charges of various assaults against the same victim.

Michael Toland (28), Ashwood, Lurgan, appeared last Friday at a preliminary enquiry at Craigavon courthouse.

The charges against him allege that on April 3 this year he assaulted a male and at the Stables bar on the Old Portadown Road, Lurgan, he had in his possession an offensive weapon, a hammer.

Toland is also charged with unlawfully and maliciously attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to the same man with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily on him.

Toland was remanded on his own bail of £500 to appear for arraignment at Craigavon Crown Court on May 12.
