With spring having officially started, the children’s charity is launching its annual campaign to encourage donations to its shops at Westland Road South in Cookstown and Rainey Street in Magherafelt.

Barnardo’s supporter and popular actress Jo Joyner is supporting the charity’s appeal for clothing, footwear and accessories like jewellery, belts and handbags.

Jo Joyner is known for her roles in No Angels and EastEnders and more recently Ordinary Lies, Trying Again and Marley’s Ghosts.

Jo Joyner said: “I am really happy to be supporting Barnardo’s spring retail campaign this year. I enjoy a ‘spring clear out’ and regularly visit my local Barnardo’s store and donate belongings that I no longer use.

“Instead of throwing things away, we can give them to Barnardo’s to raise cash to help the most disadvantaged children in the UK.”

Barnardo’s NI Director Lynda Wilson said: “Each year we are overwhelmed by the volume and quality of donations by kind-hearted people.”
