Chris and Michael McGrath are taking part in a ‘Brave the Shave’ event on Saturday to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“I saw it advertised by the charity and the two of us decided to sign up for it,” explained Chris, who works as a photographer.

The brothers did not require too much convincing, and were especially keen to raise money for the cause because they had seen the impact that cancer can have on sufferers and their families.

“We know about cancer,” Chris said, “how it can affect people - from how they feel to how they look. Our grandmother died of lung cancer, so it really does hit home.”

Chris, who is 18 years old, will go under the razor with his twenty-two year old brother on Saturday evening at JP’s Bar and Terrace Lounge. “Everyone has been supportive of the idea,” said Chris, who hopes to see a good crowd there for the very worthy cause.

The ‘Brave the Shave’ event promises to be a fun-filled evening for all who attend, and kicks off at 8pm.
