District Judge Neil Rafferty ordered a course of alcohol counselling for a Waterside woman accused of lunging with scissors at a woman and assaulting a police officer during two separate incidents last February.

Derry Magistrate’s Court heard that Jeanette Graham (57), from Duke Street, was reported to have been involved in the scissors incident on February 5 but was too drunk to be interviewed when arrested.

“The hand is out to help you, do you want to take that hand?”

Ms Graham replied: “Yes.”
