Antrim and Newtownabbey council staff to be tasked to clear illegally dumped waste

A number of illegally dumped items were reported to the local authority this week.

Commenting on the incident, a council spokesperson said: “The council has received reports of illegal dumping in the Ballyutoag Road area.

“We have liaised with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, and a council team will be tasked to clean up the area. We would remind the public that if they see any incidents of fly-tipping they can report these via our online portal which they can access via our website.

“There has been a reduction in fly-tipping incidents since our Household Recycling Centres reopened, however these incidents are still significantly above the levels experienced during a comparable time period last year.”
