Arrest after searches net suspected Class A and C drugs

A man has been arrested after the PSNI carried out a number of searches in Co Armagh.

Police said the 45-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A controlled drug following a search of a property in the Churchill Gardens area of Portadown on Wednesday (May 5th).

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers seized a quantity of suspected class A and class C controlled drugs.

“The man was released on bail pending further enquiries.”

Police said they are ‘proactively targeting the supply of controlled drugs in District’.

The spokesperson added: “Yesterday in Portadown, two searches resulted in one arrest for Possession of Class A and C drugs and we disrupted a postal supply of Class A.

“We need your support and knowledge to be effective in this, never assume that we know what you know.”
