Penalty Notice issued after suspected shoplifter detained at Abbey Centre

Police issued a person with a Penalty Notice today (Thursday) after they were detained by security at the Primark branch in the Abbey Centre on suspicion of theft.

Detailing the incident, a PSNI spokesperson said: “During a routine patrol today (November 17) Glengormley Neighbourhood Policing Team attended Primark, Abbey Centre.

"We dealt with a person who had been detained by store security on suspicion of theft of clothing items.

"This person has been issued with a Penalty Notice for the offence.”
