Three arrests have been made following a report of males having a gun in the Portstewart area.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed that police in Coleraine responded swiftly to the report.
"Within an hour we arrested three males on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place,” the spokesperson said.
The three were taken into police custody to assist with enquiries.
