PSNI probe an assault and racial attack

Police in Londonderry are investigating a serious assault at a flat at Clooney Terrace at around 4.10am on Monday, July 6.

Detective Constable Donnell is keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at that time and who saw a dark coloured car containing a number of males driving either towards or away from the area.

Meanwhile, police at Strand Road have appealed for information about a racial hate incident in the city centre ata 3.30a, on Saturday, July 5..

Constable McWilliams, the investigating officer, said a woman ordered food in premises at Waterloo Street. After consuming most of the food, she complained about the quality and demanded her money back. When this was refused, she threw the food at an assistant and racially abused him.

She is described as being about five feet in height and of a slim build. She had dark hair and was wearing a black dress. She spoke with a local accent.
