Recipe for disaster - van driver doing 90 while texting

Police have described a road stop on the M1 near Portadown this afternoon (Thursday, July 2) as “A recipe for disaster”.

They said they stopped a van driver travelling at 90 mph: “When we pulled alongside him he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was texting on his phone as well. No wonder he was veering across the white line!

“He can expect a day in court.”
