Suspended sentence for benefit fraud conviction
A 39-year-old man has narrowly avoided jail after claiming almost £9k in benefits he was not entitled to.
Alex Cruickshank of Willow Drive, Dungannon appeared before Dungannon County Court yesterday on October 6.
He was reported to have claimed Jobseekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £8,898, whilst failing to declare employment.
He was given a six month prison sentence suspended for three years and must repay the money that was wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
