Warning from police as thieves target sheds and garages

Police are appealing to householders to ensure their garages and sheds are properly secured following recent break-ins at Cookstown and Moneymore.

Police say the main aim of the criminals is to get their hands on power tools, lawnmowers, power washers and other similar expensive items.

They said in a social media post: "They may well be selling these items by word of mouth or may also use some online platforms. Try to secure your premises as best you can and be alert to anyone seen acting suspiciously."
