Residents and staff at Sandringham Care Home in Portadown have presented £675.20 to Macmillan Cancer Support, raised during the recent World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Friends, family members and people from the local community were invited to enjoy home-made cakes, tea and coffee.

Guests were also given the opportunity to write a message, a prayer or a get well note on a ‘Macmillan’ balloon for the balloon release.

Maintenance man Bernard Leavy did the ice bucket challenge while care assistant Andrew Gray had his head shaved.

Sam Bright, personal activities leader at Sandringham Care Home, said “All of us here at the home really enjoyed taking part in this year’s Macmillan coffee morning. It is such a worthwhile cause and we are delighted to have raised such a large amount of money for them.”

In total, Four Seasons homes raised £10,174.56 through their fundraising efforts. The money will be used by Macmillan to provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support for those living with cancer.
