Deaths in the community

The death took place suddenly on August 7 of Mary Susan (Maisie) Nelson, 55 Fairview Road, Taughlomney Road, Donaghacloney.

She was the wife of the late Alfie and mother of Kenny, Jennifer, Joan, Rosemary and Barbara.

Her funeral was on Thursday to Moira Presbyterian Church followed by interment in the adjoining burying ground.

Rosaleen Magennis

The death took place peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital on August 8 of Rosaleen Magennis, nee Brankin, wife of the late Mark, 10 Newforge Park, Magheralin.

She was the sister of Rita and the late James, Thomas, John, Molly and stepmother to Anne, Marian, Margaret, Bernadette, Dolores and Mark.

Her funeral was to the Church of St Patrick and Ronan on Friday with interment in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Glenavy.

Sheila Mulholland

Sheila Mulholland, nee McCaughley, died peacefully at Lurgan Hospital on August 8.

She was the wife of John, 5 Taghnevan Close, Lurgan. She was the mother of Barry, Kieran, Grainne and Shannah.

Her funeral took place on Friday to St Peter’s Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

James David Dawson

The death took place suddenly at his home in Magheralin on August 8 of James David (Jimmie) Dawson.

He was the husband of Evelyn and father of Anne, Caroline, Janet and the late Lynne.

His funeral service was on Friday in Magheralin Parish Church followed by interment in the adjoining churchyard.

William Davis Green

The death took place on August 7 of William Davis Green, 1 Winona Crest, Donacloney.

He was the husband of Nellie and stepfather of Elizabeth, Diane and Sharon.

His funeral was on Friday to Ballyroney Presbyterian Church with interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Hugh Smyth

The death took place on August 9 at Rosemount Nursing Home of Hugh (Hugo) Smyth, 110 Derrytrasna Road, Lurgan.

He was the husband of Roseleen and father of Margaret, Frances and Gerard.

He was the father-in-law to Pat, Eugene and Geraldine.

His funeral was on Saturday to St Mary’s Church, Derrytrasna, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Maurice Campbell

The death took place suddenly at Craigavon Area Hospital on August 11 of Maurice Campbell, son of John and Mary, 2 Diamond Lane, Aghalee.

He was the brother of Majella (Savage), Sean, Anne-Teresa (Morgan), Neil, Patricia (McCullagh) and the late Brendan and Liam

His funeral was on Monday to St Patrick’s Church, Aghagallon, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Bernard Lavery

Bernard (Barney) Lavery, of 12 Cypress Gardens, Lurgan, died on August 11.

He was the husband of Eilish and father of Colette, Lucia, Libby, Colin, Paula and Helen.

His funeral was on Tuesday to St Paul’s Church followed by burial in St Colman ‘s Cemetery.

Fidelis Walsh

The death took place peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital on August 11 of Fidelis Walsh, nee McCartan, 26 Colane Road, Aghagallon.

She was the wife of Gerry and mother of Sheena Devlin, Connor, John and Martin.

She was the sister of Raymond, Dympna, Theresa and the late Veronica and Damian.

Her funeral was on Tuesday to St Patrick’s Church, Aghagallon, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
