Defendant ‘very sorry for offence’

A 24-year-old man was banned from driving for 14 months last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for an excess alcohol offence.

Ion Mihai Toma, Westland Road, was also fined £250 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that on January 11 this year at 1.25am in Obins Street police noticed a car crossing the central markings in the road.

They smelled intoxicating liquor from the defendant and an evidential test gave a reading of 65.

Speaking through an interpreter the defendant told the court he was “very, very sorry”.
