Don’t score any own goals over World Cup waste
If you are planning a party or big-match barbecue, or ordering a takeaway while watching a game, one thing is certain – all these World Cup celebrations will create lots of extra waste.
Director of environmental services Philip Thompson said:“Now that the World Cup is upon us, providing a month of high drama, it will create a mountain of items just asking to be recycled.

“All you have to do is make sure it is clean and then put it in your recycling bins which are your blue bin and glass caddy.
“It will take seconds to do but will save a lot more than you think. It will help Larne Borough continue to save ratepayers’ money that has to be spent on waste that isn’t recycled and stays among the top scorers in the recycling league tables.”
