Within a few months of being banned from the roads a Portadown man was stopped for a drink driving offence.
He was Jonathan McAtee (40), Moy Road, Portadown, and he appeared last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
He admitted driving with excess alcohol at Kernan Loop Road on April 9, driving while disqualified and not having insurance.
The court heard that he was stopped on the Northway and a breath test gave a reading of 199. It transpired he was a disqualified driver.
District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said McAtee had been disqualified in September of last year and within a few months he was driving again.
Also, he added, the defendant was almost three times the limit and had no insurance.
The judge adjourned the case until September 4 so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.
