  • Complaints from residents
  • Talks over increased cleaning
  • Request for additional enforcement resources

DUP MP David Simpson and Cllr Darryn Causby have been inundated with complaints from residents living in Watson Street about the increased amount of fly-tipping and the need to tackle the problem.

The MP and Councillor have been out surveying the issue, and have been liasing with Craigavon Borough Council concerning the need for increased cleaning and increased vigilance from environmental wardens.

This is an unacceptable situation for residents

Speaking on the issue, David Simpson MP said: “This is an unacceptable situation for residents. It would appear that we have individuals who have no respect for property, and no respect for residents of the Watson St area. To see this amount of rubbish being dumped in this area is very disappointing and needs tackled.

“We have been liaising with the Council and commend them on their swiftness - however, we have also asked for additional enforcement resources to be placed within the area to try to catch those who are involving themselves in this type of unacceptable behaviour.”
