The Corporate Plan Review comes as the Council reaches the mid-way point of an ambitious three-year strategy aimed at cementing the region’s reputation as ‘a place where people are proud to live, work and invest’.

It outlines performance in four strategic areas: delivering value for money; building prosperity and economic growth; creating a sustainable environment; and developing the wellbeing of diverse communities.

Mayor of Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council, Councillor Sean McGuigan, said: “In 2012 we outlined an ambitious plan of action that would address priority issues with strategic investment and an emphasis on continued high quality service, innovation and value for money.

“It is very pleasing for all of us involved in the Council to be securing such strong results for the people and businesses of this region.

“The results in this report endorse the fact that we are delivering on our promises and meeting the high standards people should expect from local government. In tough times the Councillors and officials have worked harder and smarter to provide meaningful support our communities, keep rates low and drive forward our vision of a place where people are proud to live, work and invest in.

“We know that the job is not yet finished, but we’re in a strong position to leave a fitting legacy to this Council. We remain focused on working in partnership with our public, community and businesses so this area can sustain and enhance the positive transformation seen in the borough.”
