Welcome for £120k street lighting for Portadown

The street lighting upgrade is due to start on Sunday 25th October this year.

The Upper Bann MLA said: “I am very pleased with the recent announcement from Department for Infrastructure to begin work on a £120,000 street lighting upgrade.

“The improvement work will extend from Portadown train station up to and including the Shillington Bridge,” said the MLA.

He added: “It will involve a new LED lighting system and a full replacement of all underground cables.

“I have lobbied extensively for greater road safety on the Northway and I am pleased that long lasting progress has been made on this front.

The scheme is expected to reach completion by mid-November,” said the Portadown DUP MLA.
