Kernan Run Club 10 and 5K Portadown Race was a runaway success last weekend.
The race, started in Portadown’s the People’s Park, saw runners from all over Northern Ireland compete with nearly 280 runners.
An excellent number considering this was the first time Kernan Run Club had organised such an event.
There was lots of excitement as runners from all levels were entered to run 10k or 5k.
Disco Freddy led the warm-up with music and LordMayor Darryn Causby got the race off to a great start.
All of the Kernan runners were employed as helpers or marshals at the event.
The PSNI were on hand to help direct traffic and Kernan officials thank everyone for help and encouragement.
A great day was had by all and Kernan members hope everyone will mark this day next year into their diaries.
Special thanks to Gareth Irvine, Emma McKee and Leah Dobson, who worked tirelessly to make this a great event for the town of Portadown.
Thanks also to all the sponsors and the relevant authorities allowing this event to go ahead.
