The countdown is on to the annual Christmas lights switch-on in Portadown tonight (Thursday).

Wrap up warm for the fun-filled festivities which kick off at 5.30pm when local singing sensation Emma Horan will be taking to the stage to perform an enchanting rendition of ‘This Town’s Moving On’ as well as more festive songs to get you into the spirit of the season.

Compered by well-known TV personality Frank Mitchell, the magic doesn’t stop there with performances from FADD studios, the Pamela Cassells School of Performance and captivating carols from Millington and Richmount primary schools.

And don’t forget about the main man himself – Santa Claus who will be arriving in style to help the Lord Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Darryn Causby switch on the lights.

The entertainment will conclude with a live performance from the Soul Truth Band featuring Amanda St John who will be belting out plenty of contemporary blues, soul and funk tunes.
