Famous writers Walking Tour

THE city of Londonderry has an amazing literary heritage and that legacy is celebrated in a new walking tour devised and conducted by husband and wife team, Anne and Jim Craig.

“Our rich legacy of famous writers has been a vital element in our successful bid for City of Culture 2013,” said Anne.

“And taking the tour gives you a very good introduction to the things which motivated them to write.

“There are literally hundreds of writers associated with the city.”

“Our tour focuses on fifteen of them who have left their unique literary mark on Derry-Londonderry just as it has left an indelible mark on them.”

“The tour takes you back to the 6th century and forward to the present day,” says retired teacher Jim.

“The tour is both informative and entertaining with a good dollop of humour.”
