A twenty-two-year-old man who threw a sandwich at a police officer was fined £150 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for an assault charge.
Declan McKeown, whose address was given to the court as Pinebank, Craigavon, was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that on June 3 this year police had gone to Pinebank about another matter but the prosecution in this incident did not go ahead.
McKeown threw a sandwich at one of the police officers.
Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said it was very poor behaviour on the part of McKeown but no injury was sustained.
Imposing the fine District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, said that McKeown had a suspended sentence but she would make no order as it was for an entirely different offence.
