A 19-year-old youth who told the police to “f--- off” and hurled other obscenities at them had been fined £200 for disorderly behaviour.
Stephen Duke, of Granville Road, Portadown, who appeared at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Friday, pleaded guilty to the offence which took place in West Street on June 20 this year.
The court heard Duke and another man were squaring up to each other when police intervened. The defendant said he had been “drunk and stupid”.
District Judge Bernie Kelly said she was taking into account that Duke had no previous offences.
