Flooding issue

CLLR Colum Thompson (Sinn Fein) says flooding is an issue in the Hillside Road area of Armoy.

He proposed that Moyle Council writes to Road Service requesting a site meeting to discuss the ongoing issue of flooding along the Hillside Road between the exit from Armoy village and the chicane approximately 500 yards further along the road.

Cllr Thompson told the Times: “The issue of flooding along the Hillside Road on the outskirts of Armoy is an ongoing concern, during periods of heavy rainfall the road often floods which presents a danger to road users.

“Indeed the area is well known for road accidents. The flooding also effects private property and land and is becoming a regular issue for property owners. This is why I have asked Road Service for a site meeting, so that the problems can be pointed out on site to give Roads Service an opportunity to address the problem.”
