Sinn Féin Councillor Gemma McKenna has welcomed the erection of a bus shelter at the top of the Garvaghy Road.
The Portadown representative said the news would be welcomed by people using public transport who had previously been left exposed to the elements.
“My party colleagues on the environmental services committee and I have lobbied extensively for the erection of a bus shelter in this area. We welcome that council have now put the bus shelter in place,” she said.
“This shelter will make life more comfortable for those residents of the North West Portadown area who depend on public transport to get around.
“It will also be of special benefit to the youth of the area who have to stand out in the open waiting for their schools buses throughout the year.”
