Gave false info

A CRAIGAVON woman who gave false information to police was fined £100 for the offence.

Julie Magee (38) from Bluestone Hall, Craigavon, admitted charges of obstructing police and permitting someone to drive without insurance.

The court was told police had been called to an accident and spoken to the occupants of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Marius Stonkus, had no insurance.

The defendant was on the front passenger side and said she had been driving the vehicle when it skidded.

The defending solicitor said Magee had given police false information as a result of misplaced loyalty and accepted full responsibility for her behaviour.

The solicitor added she accepted she should not gave given permission for Stonkus to drive.

For obstructing police Magee was fined 100, she was fined 150 for permitting someone to drive without insurance with six points endorsed on her licence.
