Girl’s Brigade enrolment service
Rev Dr Stewart Jones conducted the service and praise chosen by the Girls’ Brigade included ‘He gave me eyes so I could see the wonders of the world’, ‘One more step along the world I go’ and ‘The Girls’ Brigade will teach us’.
During the service readings were by Zara Rankin-Glenn (Deuteronomy 6, 4-9), Rebecca Campbell (Luke 1, 1-4) and Chloe McNeely (2Timothy, 3, 14–17).

Hide AdRev Dr Jones presented Pearl Gamble with a certificate to mark her completing the ‘Handling the Word’ course. Pearl also collected a certificate on behalf of her son, Timothy.
The congregational offering for the Girls’ Brigade’s funds was taken up by members of the Girls’ Brigade companied by Mrs Lynette McClay on the organ.
In his address Rev Dr Jones based his comments on ‘What would we do if we got lost?’
Rev Dr Stewart Jones dedicated and enrolled Lieutenants Lorraine Fleming, Sharon Smith, Jennifer Henderson, Lorraine Smyth, Dawn Robinson, Jean Rutherford and Francine McKeegan followed by the enrolment of the Sub Officers Jamie McCauley, Ruth Allen and Judith Allen. Jamie, Ruth and Judith also received certificates. After the enrolment of the Officers and Sub Officers, the Explorers, Junior and the Company Section were enrolled.

Hide AdAfter the Benediction and National Anthem, the colour party, Jennifer Henderson, Lucy Robinson and Gemma Watt led the girls back to the hall to be dismissed, drawing the act of enrolment to a close.
There was also a baptism at the service. Kenneth and Caroline McDonald presented their baby daughter, Carla Irene Amy for baptism. The congregation joined together in the baptismal hymn, ‘Our children, Lord, in faith and prayer we bring before your face’.
