Glasgow Celtic Supporters’ Club celebrates 50 years
The club was founded originally by local people who wanted to form a supporters club and organise travel to Celtic matches and later obtained their own premises first in Arthur St and then at its current address in Church Place
A club spokesman said: “In February the club had a 50th anniversary dinner in the Carrrickdale Hotel and we were pleased to welcome some of the original founding members of the club as well as some former Glasgow Celtic players a fantastic night of craic and nostalgia was had by all.

“This year has proven very exciting for us in terms of local football as Lurgan Celtic have returned to play out of the club and merged with the Celtic Lurgan No 1 to form a partnership which we hope will flourish over the next few years into a new powerhouse in local football with already several youth football teams under way and expansive plans for the future
“Extensive renovations have also happened over the year and the club is proud that all visitors are made comfortable and welcome in these new surroundings, we continue to grow and hope to continue our great tradition of sending people over to Celtic matches for the next 50 years.”
