Glynn pupils ‘grow their own’
They have been planting gladioli bulbs and sunflower seeds supplied by Inver Garden Centre which are due to flower in the spring and summer.
In addition, they will be planting potato seeds and lettuce in the school garden which Glynn Primary won at Hillsborough Garden Festival, three years ago.

“It also helps the children to see the life cycle of the plants and vegetables and encourages them to grow their own and to think about healthy eating.
“We planted potatoes a previous year. It was very successful. The children were able to see them growing. Then in the autumn term, we dug them up and boiled them in the classroom.”
