A 5km walk around Loughgall Country Park has marked the end of a health programme run across three Armagh leisure centres.

The Choose to Live Better initiative encouraged adults to consider their weight and to make appropriate lifestyle changes by promoting increased physical activity and healthier eating patterns.

It began in February and was delivered over a period of six to eight weeks at the Richhill, Tandragee and Armagh recreation centres.

Mrs Elaine Devlin, Investing for Health officer at Armagh City and District Council, said the initiative was a great success, with approximately 70 participants engaging in the physical activities on offer as part of the programme.

“This will ultimately improve participants’ general health and well-being,” she said.

The exercise programme was funded by the Public Health Agency and supported by Armagh City and District Council.
