The ‘Feature Artist’ this year is American born, McCall Gilfillan who will be exhibiting some amazing stonework ceramic sculptures and seascape pieces. Her newest ceramic pieces bring a sharp contrast evoking coastal basalt formations, curvaceous forms wearing their textured surfaces proudly like adornment.

Living at Downhill she is able to draw inspiration from the surrounding beautiful coast line.

In 2000 she established Elements Studio Ceramics in Downhill next to the family tourist business Downhill Beachhouse. McCall is well known across the province as both an artist and teacher in ceramics and kiln fired glass. S

he has worked with a wide variety of sculpture projects and installations for charities and community groups. She volunteers professionally with the children’s art programme at Ballyhackett P.S. and Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust Binevenagh Management Forum.

The exhibition begins this Thursday, March 17 at 7.30pm and continues Friday 2pm-9pm and Saturday 10.30am-3.30pm.
