Investigation after assault at The Hollies

Detective Sergeant John McKendry said: “Shortly before 11:50pm, it was reported that a masked male entered a house in the area armed with a hammer. It is believed that a male aged 44 years was assaulted in the area. It is also believed that damage was caused to the property during the incident.

“The male was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. Enquiries are continuing.”
