Southern Area Hospice Services are calling on local people to join them on Saturday 22nd August as they climb Slieve Donard to raise vital funds.
The climb will commence at 10am, with participants meeting in Donard Car Park. The walk is approximately 5.5 miles and the climb stretches to 2550ft where, on a clear day, there are breathtaking views as far as Scrabo Tower and the Wicklow Hills.
Lisa Hamill of Southern Area Hospice Services called on budding participants to sign up: “We are really looking forward to our Donard Day this year. Southern Area Hospice Services has a fundraising target of £2.38million for 2015, and events such as this one are so important in helping us to achieve that! The Donard Day promises to be a challenging yet rewarding experience for all participants, and we would encourage as many people as possible to sign up and join us.”
Southern Area Hospice Services is a charity providing care and support free of charge to local people who are living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
