Jury fails to reach verdict in court case

A retrial is expected later this year after a jury at Craigavon Crown Court on Thursday failed to reach a verdict into the case of a Ballinderry man who faced a series of historical sexual assault charges, some relating to a child. Winston Smyth (66) of Moira Road, Upper Ballinderry faced 13 indecent assaults against a male and three gross indecency towards a child.
