When a 44-year-old man got out of his car and started shouting at a female motorist he left her feeling scared and intimidated, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Wednesday.

Francis Doyle, Inisfail Walk, Lurgan, admitted a charge of disorderly behaviour in Church Place on January 8 this year.

The injured party reported to police that she had been driving in Church Place when a car pulled across her without indicating. She sounded her horn and the driver of the other car, the defendant, stopped and got out.

He came to her driver’s side and began shouting in an aggressive manner. She felt scared and intimidated.

Doyle tried to open the car door but it was locked. He only stopped when another member of the public asked him to move his car and while he was distracted the injured party was able to drive around his car.

District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, adjourned sentencing until May 25 for a pre-sentence report.
