Lisburn firm gets White House seal of approval

Lisburn company, Sonet Communications, has been given the seal of approval by The White House for the company’s contribution to the overall success of the G8 Conference.

Darren Gibson, Managing Director of Sonet Communications received a personalised certificate and a personal Presidential endorsed gift for the work involved.

The firm is a specialist fibre optic and data structured cabling installer.

“It was a great for our company to be involved in this project and to be recognised in this way for what was a complex project to manage and one which made great use of our experience and determination to deliver to client expectations,” said Darren.

“We are keen to get the message out that a business like ours can work successfully with the Office of the President of the USA, and to use this as a platform for future work with the American Embassy and further afield.”

The project involved the installation of not only communications cabling but also modifying electrical supplies to cater for various USA equipment specifications.

All work was carried out to the highest standard with the overall value of this project lifting Sonet Communications to another level of project management and delivery.

Chairman of Lisburn City Council’s Economic Development Unit, Alderman Allan Ewart, said: “It is great to see a local company gain such prestigious acknowledgement from The White House.

Sonet Communications has been in business for twelve years and sixteen staff operate from its premises in Lisburn.

The company provides Intelligent Networking Services for the all sectors including Hilton Hotel Group across Ireland.

This covers all aspects of their communications cabling provision such as Data, Telephony, Wi-Fi services and Press Conference staging.

As a result of this the company was involved in delivering the requirements for the G8 services within the Hilton Hotel in Belfast City Centre for both the American White House Communications Agency and the Office of the Prime Minister of Japan.
