A 37-year-old man who assaulted a hospital porter will be sentenced later this month at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
Pedro Nelson Almeida Goncalves, whose address was given to the court as Brookfield Crescent, Dungannon, admitted common assault and disorderly behaviour on December 24 last year.
The court heard last Wednesday that police received a report of a number of men causing a disturbance in the accident and emergency department at Craigavon Area Hospital.
Three men were drunk and rowdy and the injured party, a porter, alleged the defendant had punched him.
Goncalves was unable to stand without assistance because he was heavily intoxicated. The defendant and his companions were advised about their behaviour.
District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said that since the offences took place in the context of a hospital he wanted a pre-sentence report.
He adjourned sentencing until April 29 so that a report could be prepared.
